The origin story
Alex Kozera
started The Village to give the best early education to her children.
Struggling to find care for her son while studying at Harvard - she created opportunities for other entrepreneurial moms.
The journey
2017
After succesful exit from her first startup, our founder Alex found herself at a yoga camp. On the same day she learned that she had been accepted into Harvard and that she was pregnant.
January 2019
While studying at Harvard, the idea for The Village is born and developed with the support of Early Childhood Education experts
September 2019
Our first model villages were built in Warsaw, Poland, and our idea began to take shape with initial marketing and a sleek website design.
May 2020
We receive certification from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy for our innovative nursery caregiver course.
September 2020
Our MVP goes live, and we're off to the races with six partner-led villages and over 100 children under our care.
January 2021
Word of our success begins to spread, and we attract interest from 24 new partners who want to join our movement.
July 2021
Our team grows exponentially, and we secure our first pre-seed round of funding to help bring our innovative technology product to life.
January 2022
33 villages are now operational, providing high-quality care for over 1,300 children.
June 2022
With €3.2 million in seed funding, our product team expands to keep up with growing demand.
June 2022
The Village spreads its wings and expands into the Spanish market, bringing our innovative approach to early childhood education to Barcelona.
